Vice President Chief Dr. Taylor is a visible and very involved stateswoman; with a vision for affordable but quality education; transparent justice system; improve and accessible health system; women’s economic and political participation; and an accountable public service system. She is one of Liberia’s foremost advocate for increased and improved opportunities for women of Liberia; thus becoming a critical voice on cross-cutting issues at many frontlines in the battle to reposition Liberia for vibrancy, productivity and democratic good governance.

Dr. Taylor currently serves in many capacities; Vice President of the Republic of Liberia and also served as senior, Ranking Member of the Liberian Senate.

In August 2021, I was privileged to have won an African Achievers Award in the Social Advocacy category for the work I did in championing Girls Education in Malawi through the One Girl at A Time initiative. Coincidentally, Her Excellency Chief Dr Jewel Howard-Taylor was also one of the winners of the award. That is how we got connected. For the last couple of days, she was on an official visit to my country Malawi, and I met her for the first time over lunch. An amazing woman she is.

She writes “Today I was pleased to meet a young vibrant and visionary young woman from Malawi, Mrs Vera Kamtukule. I had lunch with her and her ideas and vision reinvigorated my spirit. Yes, Africa is on the right trajectory. I am exhilarated. I am glad to have met her.”
